Good questions.
Clear answers.
You do not need to know construction terminology to start a conversation.
Is project management the same as general contracting?
No. General contracting makes CPS responsible for the construction in its contract. Project management focuses on organizing the project process, schedule, information, and decisions. We agree who holds each contract and who performs the construction before work begins.
Can you join a project that has already started?
Yes, we can review a project already underway. We first look at the current scope, contracts, schedule, outstanding decisions, and work remaining to determine where our involvement can help.
What does comparing bids involve?
The lowest number may cover different work. We compare scope, quantities where available, exclusions, assumptions, and timing so you understand the differences and know what needs clarification.
Who approves changes?
You retain key approvals. We review the proposed change, explain its likely effect on scope, cost, and timing, and identify what information is still needed.
What should I send to get started?
Start with a short description, location, current stage, target dates, and the problem you need help solving. We will ask for relevant plans, bids, contracts, or schedules as the discussion develops.
Tell us what you need.
Start with the location, what you want to accomplish, and your timing. If work is underway, tell us where things stand.
We will review the details and follow up about the next step.
