Can a homeowner hire an owner’s representative?
Yes. This service can help homeowners who want support understanding a renovation, comparing contractor proposals, reviewing changes, or following construction progress. We tailor the role to the project and the decisions you need help making.
How does this work for commercial property owners?
We support the owner’s decisions while another contractor performs the work. Depending on the agreed scope, that can include proposal review, site visits, progress reporting, change-order review, and review of payment requests.
Does an owner’s representative replace my contractor?
No. Your contractor still performs and manages the construction under its contract. CPS advises you and helps you assess information; we do not become the contractor simply by acting as your representative.
Is this the same as a home inspection or design service?
No. Owner’s representation is project support. It does not replace required inspections, an architect or engineer, or a specialist’s evaluation. If a question needs one of those professionals, we identify that need.
Can you help before I select a contractor?
Yes. We can review proposals and help you clarify the scope, assumptions, exclusions, and information needed before selection. We can also discuss joining a project that is already underway.
Will you approve payments for me?
We can review the request and explain questions or concerns within our agreed role. You retain the decision to approve and release payment. The scope of our review is agreed before we begin.
Tell us what you need.
Start with the location, what you want to accomplish, and your timing. If work is underway, tell us where things stand.
We will review the details and follow up about the next step.
